Upon graduating Syracuse University in 2012 with a B.A in journalism and political science, Ivie Igbeare combined her passion for writing and all things digital when she worked as an assistant account executive at Digital Brand Architects. She worked with fashion brands such as 7 For All Mankind, Juicy Couture, and Express to name a few, to help develop and implement social media campaigns and drive engagement among their audience. Ivie Igbeare moved on to work with a published author, Yvette Allen-Campbell whose topics highlighted how overshadowed pregnant women of color feel in the media. Through that experience, Ivie realized she wanted to create content that’s inclusive and makes a lasting difference to her community. She's thrilled to help increase awareness for SEL through social media.
Valerie Pierrat has over 20 years of experience in the securities industry as a compliance professional. She has designed and implemented policies and procedures related to regulatory matters for registered investment advisers and investment companies in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Newport Beach. She is a member of the Southern California Compliance Group and the Los Angeles ‘40 Acts Group. Valerie is also a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher with over 400 hours of training. For the past eight years, Valerie has hosted a Buddhist meditation practice (White Plum lineage) group out of her home and has been practicing for over 20 years. Valerie is excited to partner with HiEQ and promote its platform of assisted learning exercises to support SEL advocacy among a broad spectrum of educators. Valerie was graduated from Tufts University and received her MBA from the Claremont Graduate Schools.
With a focus in Accounting, Genavive Parsons is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at California State University Los Angeles. She has graduated from Pasadena City College and earned associate degrees in Business Administration, Natural Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. After a debilitating car accident in 2010, her passion became making a positive impact in society, which include volunteer work at a home health and hospice agency that led to a position as an Accounting Assistant, where she provided financial support to the Accounting Supervisor and Chief Financial Officer of the organization and took initiative of various ad hoc financial projects. Genavive believes in the importance of fostering an emotionally healthy environment for children to help promote coping strategies they may use in the face of adversities today and in their adult life, and she is ecstatic to be a part of an organization that advocates lasting, positive change.
Katie LoNigro is a Colorado native and a recent graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder where she earned her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Operations and Information Management. Upon graduating, Katie moved to California to work on the Patient Experience & Retention team for HealthCare Partners, a DaVita Medical Group. Katie, is excited to assist in developing and maintaining the True Connection database. She learned the importance of understanding and managing your own emotions early on in her life as a competitive figure skater and is thrilled to work with an organization that promotes SEL.
Omar Genao is a graphic designer, illustrator, and content creator. Constructing creative design and branding for several international brands including; Palmolive, discovery kids, Nestle, and Colgate. Omar believes that emotions can be expressed through various arts. Conveying himself through drawing, photography, and music has allowed him to communicate to other groups and individuals through his passion. He has harnessed his passion for the arts to help navigate in his own life. As an immigrant learning English was possible in part because of the fusion of art and language. Since art has been instrumental in his life, he gives back by share it with others in the community.
